This weekly pinterest board is going to be ‘Places’. I chose this subject as I have nearly finished uni for summer meaning that I can finally get excited for going on holiday. This year I’m… More
Yes it’s just been Valentines Day and no, I do not celebrate it.
The whole reason I came up with this updo is because I wanted to start wearing my hair up but my hair is at that awkward length where it’s not long but not short.
This Monday was mine and my boyfriends year anniversary so I sort of came up with the idea in my head and thankfully it worked out. I just wanted to have a change from my regular messy waves and Joe (my boyfriend) really liked how I did my hair and told me to do a tutorial on it.
I think it would work on any texture, length or thickness and it’s also quick and easy. Without the edits it took me 20 minutes to do and I have thick hair, so it could even fit into a morning routine!
The products I used are literally just things I have lying around so you don’t have to go out and buy loads of expensive things. These are:
- Dry Shampoo
- Grips/Bobby Pins
- Small Bobbles/Elastics
- Curling Wand (any size/brand)
If you’d like to try out this romantic updo, watch the video below and follow the steps.
If you’d like to see more hair tutorials feel free to like or comment.
This outfit of the day is perfect for casual occasions and days when it’s cold but you still want to look cool.
I’ve always held back from wearing jeans and I didn’t wear them (or trousers etc) for over two years but bought some last year in the winter period when it was cold. I didn’t like wearing jeans because I’m really self conscious about my legs but I just thought fuck it and to not care what people think about me.
I’m glad I did because I feel more relaxed in them and don’t have to worry about them blowing up and showing my knickers when it’s windy.
This year I really wanted some flares as they’re really in ATM and I also liked the frayed jeans.
For some reason I was lucky and found some on New Look’s website so I ordered them. I must say I was skeptical about them not fitting me as I have big thighs and bum and a small waist.
I tried them on and was so glad they were stretchy because now I have two pairs of jeans! Yey me.
I’m obsessed with striped T shirts, especially long sleeved ones, and this one was in the sale at H&M so it was a must-buy.
As for the converse they go with literally anything and are probably my comfiest shoes. I like the casual look they give to the outfit.
Also I got the bag for Christmas and it has elephants on it so it must go with everything- yes because elephants are the best it means the bag goes with everything.
Finally, if it’s cold (which it is) I like to add my long duster jacket as it makes it look really relaxed and kind of an 80’s style.
Hope you liked my casual outfit, if you’ve got any recommendations on what you think it would look good with, comment them below.
Ok so this is a bit of a tricky review for me as I adore Nivea products however hate this one.
I’ll start off by saying I’ve tried the Tinted Moisturising Day Cream and absolutely loved it so thought that I’d try the BB cream when I came across it the other day whilst I was in Body Care.
These were what the product states it does:
The instructions for application also say to “Apply the cream on cleansed face by gently massaging in small circles.”
As I said I love Nivea products and had really high hopes for this one but it really didn’t live up to my expectations and here’s why:
- Even after I’d moisturised and primed my face with hydrating primer it seemed to stick to my dry patches which made it look uneven and really irritated my skin.
- I started off by applying the cream in the specified way to apply it and it looked blotchy and patchy so I tried using a makeup sponge, the same thing happened.
- The skin match was horrific as I have light skin in the winter but I wouldn’t say it’s fair, however the lightest shade made my face look orange.
- It says that it refines the appearance of pores but my pores seemed to show more than they normally would, even without makeup on.
- I never really use powder all over my face as I feel it makes my skin look dry and cakey however I tried to fix the look by packing it all over my face, this made my skin all itchy.
I’d say this product has two pros if I’m being generous and they are the smell- I absolutely love the smell of it as it smells like most Nivea products do, and it is SPF 10 to protect your skin from the sun.
I’d like to say that maybe it’s just because it’s winter and my skin is all dry and pale and that if it were summer and I were to try out the product again (which I might do) it would have a better effect.
Or it could just be my bad application. Either way, for me this product was a 1 out of 5, purely because it did the complete opposite to my skin to what it said it would do.
If you have any BB cream recommendations (preferably under a tenner) then please suggest them in the comments as I am desperate!!
This outfit of the day was only able to happen due to the Zara sale because my oh my it is good.
It’s the middle of winter yet I’m still willing to wear a midi skirt purely because it was such a gem of a buy. The t shirt was also amazingly cheap and I love the fact that it can be either casual or dressy, and will go with anything.
This outfit literally consisted of two things and can be personalised with what makes you comfortable. I like to wear it with my 1461’s, some cute socks and my Dr Marten bag.
- T shirt– Zara £3.99 (originally £15.99)
- Skirt– Zara £9.99 (originally £25.99)
- Socks- Primark £2 for two
- Shoes– 1461 Dr Martens £100
- Bag– Dr Martens £105
Currently this is one of my favourite outfits and I like to wear it for uni and going to town etc. If it’s a bit chilly I put my leather jacket on and I always bling it up with a little bit of jewellery.
If you’d like to see more of my looks comment or like this post.
Hi guys, so as you know I haven’t posted in such a long time and I bet from the title of this post you’re expecting some really interesting or dramatic excuse when really I’ve just been very busy.
To start off I’ve had uni assignments left, right, back and center to hand in and I’ve just got one more until I can have a little break. I’ve been spending time with my family over the Christmas period and it’s just been my sister’s 18th, AND I’ve finally got a job.
I’ve finally come round to relaunching my blog so expect 2-3 posts a week on all sorts of shiz.
I will be posting my first post of 2017 later on today so stay tuned to find out what it is!!
I in no way, shape, or form like football but I have a boyfriend who does.
Seen as it’s his Birthday coming up I thought it’d be nice to get him something a bit out of the box for it and he is OBSESSED with Manchester United. He’s never been on a tour of Old Trafford, which is something you can do for a reasonable price, so I thought that it’d be something he’d remember and enjoy so I booked it and went with him.
As I said, I DO NOT like football (I find it weird that people get payed so much for running round after a ball full of air?) however I kind of liked trying something new.
There’s currently an offer on the ‘stadium and museum tour for two’ costing £33.15, which I think is quite good for how long it lasts and how much you learn about the team and stadium.
- A tour of Old Trafford stadium
- Entry into the museum
What happens on the day?
Your experience will include both a stadium tour and visit to the museum featuring:
- The Sir Alex Ferguson Stand – Take in the iconic and awe-inspiring stands
- Pitch-side Dugout – Warm up like a substitute or pretend you’re Jose Mourinho
- Players’ Tunnel – Experience the thrill of entering the ground to the roar of the crowd
- Dressing Room – Sit under your favourite player’s shirt for photos
- Award-winning Museum – View famous trophies and huge collection of club memorabilia
Overall I think if you’ve got the money and you ever get a bit bored, I do actually recommend going on a tour of Old Trafford because it does actually have an interesting history.
Or if you ever need a gift idea for someone footy mad this would probably go down well.
Tuesdays are my days off uni so me and my friend planned to go to the cinema and Christmas markets in Manchester.
When I’m doing something casual like this I like to go for the more natural makeup look and comfy clothes. My hair just depends on how much it needs a wash (gross I know) and today it needed a wash very badly.
For my makeup I’ve gone for a natural brown shadow, my hair is in fishtail plaits, and I’m just wearing a t-shirt and dungaree dress.
Face products I used:
- No7 Airbrush Away Pore Minimising Primer
- PS strobing highlighting cream
- No7 Stay perfect foundation
- PS volumising mascara
- No7 beautiful eyebrow sculpting pencil
- MAC blusher (Desert Rose)
- MAC eyeshadow (Charcoal Brown)
- MUA cover and conceal
- PS contour stick
- Collection clear brow mascara
- PS velvet matte lipstick crayon
- ‘Run forest run’ Bubba Gump t-shirt
- Topshop pinafore dress
- Boohoo fedora hat
- Pandora leather bracelet & charm (worn as necklace)
- Casio watch
- Pandora rings (Aquamarine birthstone and flower)
So that was my first ever ‘get ready with me’. I’m not the best at makeup but I try and I’d like to try new things but I have to be careful with what foundation I use as my skin is acne prone.
If I could change anything it would be my eyebrows as they currently look like slugs but as you know I’m trying to grow them out so I need to leave them alone as much as I can regarding the plucking.
If you have any tips and tricks then I’d be happy to hear them.
